The trip was long but at least they had jobs to go to and somewhere to live even if it was small. They each had one suitcase half filled with clothes and a life they were leaving behind. Once they were left in the by the side of a dusty road on the outskirts of a small country town Barbara walked with Ian to their new home, unconsciously holding onto his hand as she had done so many times before. Their real estate agent waited at the door of their new home to hand them a set of keys. He wished the newly weds ever lasting happiness then left them to it.

"It seems I've missed my own wedding," Barbara said with a sigh as she put the suitcase down in the middle of the almost empty lounge room and chuckled a little. She was tired and felt dirty from all their traveling.

"We're safe here." He squeezed her hand. "We don't need to worry about Daleks or anything else invading."

"I just have to convince my dreams of as much," she chuckled. "I feel all the more better for you being here with me, however."

He smiled. "I'm not going anywhere. We'll try and find something to do this evening to take your subconscious mind off it."

"I don't suppose there's a scrabble set I could thrash you in about the place, is there?" she asked and grinned.

He let go of her hand so they could return to their breakfasts. "And what makes you think you'd win?" he asked, grinning.

"Because I'm very good," she assured him and hid her wider grin behind a spoonful of cereal.

"I'm better." He lifted his chin slightly, although the effect was spoiled when he had a spoonful of cereal himself.

Barbara scoffed with a mouth full. "I doubt that."

"We'll find a cheap scrabble set somewhere and then we'll see," he promised.

"How do I know you won't distract me?" she asked with a grin.

"Of course I'll distract you," he said, grinning. "I am very distracting. I proved that last night."

"You're lucky I liked it so much," she said with a grin and had another sip of tea.

"Of course you liked it - you have good taste." He leaned over to kiss her again.

That's she certainly liked and accepted the kiss gladly. It was a little award at the table but she could cope, given that it was Ian kissing her and not someone else. When it broke off and Ian started moving back, she rested her chin on her hand and said: "are you going to keep proving to me each day that loving you is a really good idea?"

"Yes." He smiled at her. "How else am I going to convince you to marry me?"

"You could just keep kissing me, although that could be the same thing," she said and leaned I for another kiss.

He lingered close to her after this kiss, although his tea was getting cold. "If that's all the proof you need I'll keep it up." And he kissed her again.

"We need to start each morning this way," Barbara said and pushed for another kiss.

"We do." It was waking him up much better than the tea or the cereal had. "Although I'd be quite happy if we slept later and had less time for kissing in the mornings." He returned to his breakfast so he could finish off his lukewarm tea. They had plenty of time for kissing in a far more comfortable position.

Barbara thought that once they were far more comfortable together she could help him wake up early in all kinds of ways but went back to her tea rather than voicing her opinions.

"I'll bet that the sunrise would have been lovely to watch. Maybe we should do that one day. We could walk up a hill and eat a picnic breakfast while the sun rises."

That sounded nice, until you considered that it involved getting up early. But Ian didn't want to disappoint Barbara, so he said, "That does sound nice. Although perhaps not on a school day."

"Absolutely not on a school day," she agreed, well aware that Ian would probably any to go back to bed after.

Barbara stood up to put her breakfast things in the sink and start a clean up. "Or we could do sunset if you'd prefer."

He was thinking more of watching the sunrise and eating breakfast and then having a nap right there. Assuming it was warm enough, of course. "A sunset would be easier. We could do that any time."

"We could do it this evening. Might be a nice way to debrief after a long first day. We'll come here and make sandwiches." Barbara smiled at him over her shoulder.

"Yes, why not." Ian smiled back. "We probably won't have the energy for anything else this evening." Teaching was a bit different from dealing with history and aliens."
