Barbara looked out at the view as Ian put the last of their things in the car. From the front door of the little Bed and Breakfast, she could see beautiful rolling hills for miles. The last of the morning was being chased away as the sun rose higher in the sky, thawing everything out. Even the cows seemed more active on one particular hill.

"I wish we could stay for a little longer," she sighed to Ian, turning her back on it all so that it might be easier to leave. Her arms folded, one hand still held on to the key they were yet to return. "I don't suppose your car has a secret time traveling device so we can spend an extra few weeks here?"

Barbara turned the car on and reversed out of their spot. She noticed Ian watching her and smiled at him.

"Have I got something on my face?" she asked once they were out and turning toward the car park exit.

He shook his head, smiling back at her. "I just like looking at you." But he didn't want to distract her from driving, so he turned in his seat to sit properly, facing forwards.

Barvara smiled to herself and switched on the radio. Thy chatted and sang the entire way home. It was a pleasant way to pass the afternoon into evening, so by the time Barbara pulled into Ian's street, the sun has just about disappeared.

She switched the car off and went to the boot of the car where their luggage was. Barbara pulled out her own suitcase because it was easier to life than Ian's, and headed for his apartment.

As much as it was nice to be home, it was a reminder that it was the end of their honeymoon. Even if they still had a little more time together yet. While they got their suitcases out of the boot he took the opportunity to brush a hand against Barbara's back and kiss her cheek.

As he followed her to his flat he remembered that he was going to need to get another key cut for Barbara. There wasn't a rush to get it done because they weren't going to be going anywhere separately for a while.

Once he was at the front door he put his suitcase down to open the door, then turned to Barbara. "Tradition says I have to carry you over the threshold." It was a tradition he liked and not one he was going to forego. So he picked her up.

Women were supposed to be as light as a feather, but Barbara wasn't much shorter than him and correspondingly weighed more than a feather. Not that he was going to complain, but he was glad he didn't have to go far to deposit her on the sofa with a kiss.

Barbara pulled him to her so that he fell upon her and just as she felt like her was ready to push forward, she pushed him away a little.

"Go and shower. I can put our things away."

He made a noise of protest, but it was half-hearted as the front door was still open. "I'll get the suitcases in." Having carried Barbara inside, he wasn't going to let her go out again.

He carried one in each hand and pulled the front door shut with his foot, so it slammed a little harder than he intended. "Two suitcases delivered to Mrs Chesterton," he said with a grin as he put them down in the bedroom.

"Thank you very much," Barbara said to him, "but you're treading dust all though my new house."

He pouted. "I'm just as dusty as you are." That didn't stop him from kissing her before going off to the bathroom to shower.

Barbara smiled at him then set to unpacking their things. She put their used clothes in the laundry and had a sudden idea. Back in the bedroom, Barbara slipped out of her dusty clothes and padded quietly down the short hallway to the bathroom. She swiftly let herself into the bathroom and then the shower where she grabbed the soap as though nothing was out of the ordinary.

Ian raised an eyebrow at her appearance in the shower. "There's not enough space for us both in here." Which totally justified him putting an arm round her, which meant that half of her ended up under the spray too.

"We're both in dire need of a shower that I thought that by doing it this way, we won't tread as much dust and diet into the carpet," she told him in the most innocent tone she could muster while lathering the soap in her hands.

"I don't believe you," he said grinning. He let go of her to take the soap off her, saying, "Allow me."

Barbara gave him a suspicious look and then turned around so that he could wash her back. Water from the shower head ran over her shoulders in thin, little rivers that collected together the lower they got.

"You should believe me, particularly in these matters. I'm very good at keeping clean. Usually."

"But it's more fun being dirty." He washed her back, being careful to soap all of it. Although he was tempted to kiss some of the skin he could reach he refrained and stuck to washing her, moving onto her arms, one at a time. And looking perfectly innocent, because two could play at that game.

"More fun?" she asked, a small sigh escaping at how wonderful his hands felt. "I'm afraid I have to disagree."

Barbara glanced over her shoulder to look at him, her eyes sparkling. "And if it's so much fun, why are you washing me?"

"Because there's no point being half-dirty," he said, which wasn't the reason at all. When he glanced up, having finished an arm, and saw her looking at him, he couldn't help but smile and kiss her.

Barbara let the innocent act slip and turned to face him as they kissed. The water massaged her back but it only felt jalf as good as Ian did.

"If this is what being half dirty results in," she muttered between kisses, "I think I might find my rabbit holes to fall down in the future."

"I said it was more fun being dirty." He smiled against her mouth before reluctantly stopping kissing her to step back a bit, so he was now mostly out of the spray. It meant he could work on washing her front, which he did slowly and carefully, making sure that she was all soapy. Or that's what he would claim if she asked.

Barbara watched him work on her with the soap, and as good as it felt , the desire to keep touching him only grew stronger the more he touched her. She kept her hands on his hips and leaned forward to make little trails of kisses up and over Ian's shoulder, behind his ear, along his neck...

It felt so good that Ian could quite happily have stayed here doing this. But at the back of his mind was the thought that they could run out of hot water, not to mention that they were wasting water. So having thoroughly washed the top half of her, minus her head he held out the soap to her. "Why don't you finish washing and then we can go and dry off in the bedroom."

"If you insist," she replied with a small sigh and watched him go. The. Is was a matter of quickly washing herself and rinsing away the soap so that she could join him.

Ian tended to dry himself off fairly quickly anyway, so he was dry by the time Barbara made it to the bedroom, although he'd wrapped the towel around his waist. Then he put his arms round her to hug her close and kiss her, before saying softly in her ear, "Why don't I dry you off?" and then kissing down her neck.

The kisses made Barbara weak at the knees. She was powerless to do much else other than let Ian kiss at her neck. Barbara pushed herself toward him, making their bodies press together.

"I think we should find somewhere more comfortable," she said instead and pulled him into a lengthy kiss, her hand fumbling at his towel until it fell away.

Not wanting to stop kissing her, he said nothing, instead pulling her over to the bed, so that they fell on it. Then he kept his promise to dry her, following his drying up with kisses and ultimately showing her how much he loved her.

Afterwards he held her close, kissed her some more and tangled his fingers in her hair. "I'm hungry, I think we should have a late dinner." Despite his words he didn't make any effort to go anywhere.

She waited, eyes closed, for Ian to get up but when he didn't, Barbara sat up instead.

"I'll see what you have, shall I?" Barbara smiled down at him.
