The day had been much the same as all the others but still Barbara felt nervous. She met Ian briefly at the end of the day and told him she would be late home but did not reveal what she was doing. Barbara had noticed that she was late (in other, more personal matters), and needed to speak with someone more qualified. She had her suspicions, of course but they were only going to stay suspicions until some sort of result manifested itself.

The result....made her nervous.

She slowly walked home, wondering just how she was going to tell Ian that she was pregnant. At the front door, she paused, hand hovering over door knob. It would be fine. They would be fine. Barbara just had to convince herself of that fact. Quietly she opened the door and stepped into the house. Already she could hear a few of the teenagers relaxing in their lounge eating dinner.

Now that she didn't need his hand any more he pressed one to the back of her neck to encourage her to keep kissing him and the other to her bottom to encourage him just a little bit deeper. It didn't take long before he groaned and came himself. Then he loosened his hold on her and chuckled. "I never knew you could be so violent."

"It was either that or wake the children," she replied and brushed fingers over the marks she'd left on his skin before leaning in to kiss it better. "Sorry. I'll make it up to you another time."

"I'm sure I'll live." He put a finger under her chin to lift it, so he could kiss her. "And it was only the third time we got to do that."

"Imagine how many more times we can fit in before the baby comes," Barbara smiled and guided his free hand to her little bump. "We'll be experts."

"We will," he agreed, smiling. "We just won't get to repeat it on our third anniversary," he said a little sadly. He certainly didn't want to babies so close together when they didn't even know if they could manage one yet, but he was still a little disappointed.

"Try not to think about it," Barbara kissed him sweetly, pushing the hair back from his face. "Come and cuddle with me in bed until I fall asleep."

She got up from the bath and did her best not to slip in the water they had spilled. "Be careful when you get out," she told him and wrapped a towel about herself before holding Ian's out for him.

"Maybe you should put less water in there next time." He grinned as he got out and took his towel. He dried himself with it a bit, before wrapping it round his waist and turning to pull the plug out of the bath and blow out the candles.

"The amount of water was fine, we just got too excited." As Ian bent over, Barbara ran a hand down his back and over his rump. Once she was dry, she hung the towel back up and dressed in pyjamas.

"I'll just double check every one is asleep and they ightd are off. Won't be a moment," she told him, "I'll meet you in bed."

"We were bound to get excited." He grinned at her and watched her dress as he dried himself.

While she was gone he dressed and tidied the bathroom, and rinsed the bath of suds. Then he settled in bed with a book, in case they didn't all have their lights off and she took a while.

It took Barbara a short while to return. But the lights were all off and the doors toth e outside world were shut and locked. She locked their door behind her and crawled into bed so that her head rested against Ian's shoulder.

"I don't think we should allow the girls to share a room on a week night again. They were still up talking. Tomorrow is going to quite interesting if we're all going to be tired." Barbara snuggled in to Ian's side and pulled up the blankets. Her eyes closed and she sighed a little. "Did you still want to have The Talk with them all tomorrow?"

When Barbara returned he put his book away and turned the light off, so he could put an arm round her and not have to move. "I won't do it in future," he promised. Maybe being tired tomorrow would put them off the idea, especially as they'd want to go out, it being Friday.

"I do," he replied. "We ought to get it over and done with in any case." If they put it off they'd end up putting it off too long if they weren't careful.

"You're right," she said and put an arm around him to squeeze him gently, "I'll let everyone know before they leave in the morning that we wish to speak with them once they're all home."

"That'll scare them." He chuckled. "It'll make sure they're good as gold for the whole day."

Barbara chuckled back. "Yes, I suppose that it will. Might be nice to not have Harrison or Rolfe trying to stir everyone all day long."

"That would make a nice change." He sighed. "Maybe they'll grow out of it eventually."

"I'm sure that they will. Others have and they really are good boys deep down, I just wish they'd show it more." Barbara sighed and nuzzled Ian's neck.

"I suppose it doesn't help that they spend so much time together. It just gives them the opportunity to egg each other on." He trailed his fingers down her arm.

"Maybe we should work on separating them a little," Barbara said then broke off to yawn. "And we should get some sleep."

She sat up a little to kiss Ian. "Goodnight."
